So, we were those people who said we'd never own a motorhome. But here we are. Blame COVID.
It was mostly Lynnette's idea. First she thought about converting an old ambulance, then maybe a cube-van conversion. Both would have been fun, and mini-motorhomes looked too 'granny' to us. So we spent a day in the City looking at ambos and cubies... but then she came across the Barth. A 1974 19M. So, what is a Barth?? We googled it - and we were hooked. We took a look, drove it, and paid for it right there. Then we drove our 'new' Barth home, two hours south, during the only snowstorm in a stretch of fine weather, February 2021. She drove great!

Here are the original color patterns: cushions and drapes. In good shape, considering their 47 year age.

The interior was not too bad, but everything rattled and needed refreshing.

In April we applied a little lipstick, to brighten things up.

We did lots of other things that don't photograph well: bought a new deep-cycle battery, replaced the fuel filler pipe, replaced the fridge latch, repaired the kitchen hood fan, tightened up everything including re-gluing most of the cabinet doors, touched up the interior woodwork, fixed some waterline leaks, etc. The mechanic did the real important stuff, but the Barth was in surprisingly good shape for her age.
There is still lots to do ... but in May we go camping!
